Motolere FC, popularly known as Volcanoes SC, have appointed Sadick Ssempiji as their head coach ahead of the 2026/27 Uganda Big League season.

Ssempiji’s appointment comes shortly after he confirmed his departure from Kigezi Homeboyz, whom he guided to promotion to the Uganda Premier League.

The newly promoted club confirmed Ssempiji’s appointment through its official X account, with club president Dr Martin Mbonye expressing confidence in the coach’s ability to lead the team.

Mbonye said Ssempiji’s experience, ambition and understanding of the game made him the right person to guide Volcanoes as the club begins a new chapter in its development.

Ssempiji joins Volcanoes with a reputation for delivering promotion, having played a key role in Kigezi Homeboyz’s successful campaign that earned the Kabale-based club promotion to Uganda’s top flight.

His immediate task will be to assemble a competitive squad and prepare Volcanoes for the demands of the 2026/27 Big League season as the club seeks to establish itself at the second tier of Ugandan football.
