Rugambwa said the suspension would take effect on October 30, citing alleged intimidation, threats to her safety and confrontations with some local officials and residents.
Addressing journalists at a press conference, she said the decision followed a series of disagreements, including an incident on October 28 in which she alleges that some youths attacked her during a public function attended by Local Government Minister Balam Barugahara.
The function reportedly involved the exposure of local leaders accused of corruption.
Rugambwa said the prevailing tensions had made it difficult for her to carry out activities aimed at improving household incomes and supporting community development.
Through the Boona Bagaigahare Nyekundire Group, residents have been receiving pigs, coffee seedlings and other agricultural support intended to promote household income generation and wealth creation.
She said the suspension would remain in force until district leaders engaged President Yoweri Museveni and addressed the concerns surrounding her work in the area.
Rugambwa added that she would redirect the programme's activities to other districts where communities required government support, saying she could not continue operating in an environment where her security was not guaranteed.
She appealed to political and local government leaders to resolve their differences, warning that continued disagreements could undermine development initiatives targeting ordinary households.
The suspension raises concerns about the continuity of livelihood interventions for residents who depend on the group for agricultural inputs and other forms of support.
