Kigezi HomeBoyz to Play 2026/27 UPL Home Matches in Rwamwanja

Kigezi HomeBoyz FC will play its home matches in the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season at Rwamwanja Stadium in Kamwenge after its Al-Madinah Stadium in Kabale failed to meet the required standards for hosting top-flight matches.

The club confirmed the development in an official communication, acknowledging the disappointment among supporters in the Kigezi region who had hoped to watch the team compete in the Uganda Premier League on home soil.

The decision means Kigezi HomeBoyz will temporarily relocate its home fixtures to Rwamwanja as it begins its historic debut season in Uganda’s top flight.

“This is not the outcome we had hoped for,” the club said.

The management said it remains committed to upgrading the Al-Madinah Stadium to meet the standards required by the Uganda Premier League authorities.

The club said its long-term objective is to return its home matches to Kabale, allowing supporters across the Kigezi region to watch their team compete in the country’s top division from its traditional home.

The relocation to Rwamwanja is expected to pose a logistical challenge for the club’s supporters, who will have to travel to Kamwenge to watch the team’s home fixtures.

Kigezi HomeBoyz earned promotion to the Uganda Premier League after a successful 2025/26 campaign, securing a historic place in the country’s top-flight competition.
