Mbarara City, District to administer PLE at 226 centres

A total of 226 examination centres have been designated in Mbarara District and Mbarara City for this year’s Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), which begin on Tuesday, November 3.

Mbarara District Inspector of Schools Kellen Ayebazibwe said the district has registered 98 examination centres, while her Mbarara City counterpart, Annet Bato Ntimba said the city has 128 centres.

The two officials disclosed the figures during the reception of PLE examination materials at Mbarara Central Police Station, where they also expressed confidence in the preparations for the national examinations.

According to the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) timetable, candidates will sit Mathematics at 9am on Tuesday, followed by Social Studies and Religious Education at 2pm.

On Wednesday, November 4, candidates will sit Integrated Science at 9am before concluding the examinations with English at 2pm.

The two education officials said they expected teachers to have adequately prepared candidates and urged invigilators to strictly adhere to the examination guidelines.

They also cautioned candidates and invigilators against examination malpractice, warning that anyone found engaging in cheating would be arrested and prosecuted.

The officials emphasised the need for all stakeholders to uphold the rules and regulations governing the examinations to ensure a credible and fair exercise.
