The team is scheduled to meet the affected persons at Kasese Central Police Station (CPS) at 8am on September 23, 2026, according to Rwenzori East Regional Police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate.
ASP Maate said the meeting will provide an opportunity for victims of the incident to present their concerns and share information with the investigating team.
He urged all people who were affected by the incident to attend the meeting and cooperate with the team, saying their participation would be important in determining the way forward.
“The outcome, depending on your presence and cooperation, will determine the way forward,” ASP Maate said.
The latest development comes as police and other stakeholders continue efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding the HURT 8 incident and address concerns raised by those affected.
